Goldminers in New Zealand

Hello and today im gonna  be telling you about goldminers in New Zealand and why a lot of people from around the world came to New Zealand took their gold.

Mahinga Kai

So out of the two of the activity's, Tangata Whenua and Te Tiriti O Waitangi we have one more. Mahinga Kai it's our last one for the activity's. This one talks about how this guy Karl lives and how he lives like maori back in the days. This is one of his saying "If we don't have kai, then people will die" So he does that but different from the human's today. So he grows and stores food himself, and when he doesn't have what he needs he trades, here's my slideshow.

Last week we watched a movie called "The Martian". It's about this man Mark Watney getting stuck on Mars. So everyone needs to figure out how to bring him back. Once we finished watching we got sent an activity called "Interview with Mark Watney", and ask him questions of what happened and that. We also had to write a news report about what happened over that time here's mine.

Questions and answers.

1. How was your experience when you were in Mars?

My experience was actually pretty scary and fun. Because through the time I was on mars alone I got to experience what you could and what you couldn’t grow on Mars.

2. What did you learn when you were on Mars?

That some people have no one to turn to and that’s how I felt, and that you have to be willing to take care of yourself.

            

3. How did you stay so calm through the storm?

The number one rule is to stay calm through everything because the more calm you are the more you can think what to do.

4. Did you have fun being alone?

Yes and no because I was on Mars by myself and had no one to turn to when the storm hit, and yes because I got to do some cool things, and learn how to do things on my own.

5. How did you react when you were left on Mars by yourself?

            When I figured that I was left on Mars alone I was pretty devastated and lonely. 

News Report:

e.g. Well known tennis player, Tony Rutene, landed in the wrong town for his latest tennis tournament. He was stuck there with no transport, no money, no food and no communications. His teammates had no idea where he was and after a week gave him up for dead because he was unable to access  a phone or computer given that everyone in the town was in lockdown. Noone travelled out of their bubble and it was only by chance that a helicopter flew over and saw Tony’s message in a vacant plot. ‘HELP!’ The pilot landed  on the plot and at a safe distance was able to sort Tony out and fly him back home to his relieved family and teammates.

One of the Astronaunts, Mark Watney has currently been announced dead. When Nasa was doing research on Mars an enormous storm hit. While they were trying to get out of there Mark Watney got trapped inside it, and the crew didn’t have time to get him. So the crew left Mars without Mark, when Nasa heard the heartbreaking news they just fell apart. But one of the Nasa people from mission control saw movement through the saterlitte. Therefore Nasa was trying to figure out what it was, was it an alien or was the astronaut that we thought was dead but actually alive. The astronaut himself told us that he survived by growing potatoes and eating it. But one day an enormous sandstorm hit and had a low oxygen warning, so then he had to get to base as soon as he could. When he got inside he saw that he was left with a huge wound and that he had to treat it soon. Now he has not many days to live because where the crops were destroyed. So now Nasa has figured for the crew to just turn around and get him, and bring him back to Earth. So with all effort and hope everyone has is to get all of them home. The crew made a successful journey and came home all safe and sound.

Top 10 Most Amazing Man-Made Attractions

For the past week I have been working on a activity about top 10 some thing, and I chose Top 10 man-made attractions. It was pretty fun learning about the top 10 man-made attractions, because when I was searching I got to learn some cool facts about it.

Today I done an activity about Tangata Whenua. it's about how maori and moriori people sailed from. What they ate, how they lived and survived. They also talked about where they lived and what they brought with them to new zealand.

Reading Activities

Fair or Foul

For one of our activity's for reading we had to write about stereotypes. To see if it's Foul or Fair this is mine.

Because younger people need heaps of sleep.

Because you would want to buy something important or to do anything with it.

Novel Study-Battle of words

For the last couple of weeks my group has been reading Battle of words.The main Character's name is called P.S McGunnity she is good at skating on her roller skates.Her next door neighbour is called C.V Moles Worth.They do not get along but P.S McGunnity tries to apologize but it always goes wrong.

Yes I liked the book because sometime's when I read it I feel really sorry for P.S McGunnity.
The Activity sheets helped me by writing down what I know so I don't have to keep on thinking of it.
I give it a 5 star rate.

Term 4 Reading

This term we have been learning how to read in between the lines Mrs Jack told all the kids if there is something to do with reading you put it in the term four reading slide so the first novel to the last you had to put all you know into the slide when Mrs Jack taught me new things when we read a book like she taught me what reading in between the lines here is my slide for the term four reading slide.

The mystrey at number 7

in the  first novel study my group was named rat burger our first book was The mystrey at number 7

we had to read each chapter each day it was like when there was a woman named Maranda that moved in to number 7 and Bec,Abbey go and find out why she doesn't sleep in there and when finished reading with Mrs Jack we had to do our y - chart.

Chinese new year

so today Maia and I were reading with Miss Hanson in Whakarua we read about the Chinese new year I actually learnt quit a bit so after that me and Maia made a slideshow about the Chinese new year like what you have learnt and what they do.

So yesterdayI went to Mrs Jacks break out space to learn about myths and legends we learnt about Maori legends of the weather and there was legends fighting over who is the strongest and when one of them clapped very hard so that the thunder could set the village on fire but then this woman try to clap but it was the weakest out of all of them and the weather legend is Tawhirimatea the legend of the thunder.
